Employment, Self- Employment and Work Placement Supports

Through our DLDC programmes, we offer  range of supports for the following: 

Our Community work placement initiative provides short-term quality working opportunities with Community, Voluntary and Not-for Profit organisations for 19.5 hours per week to those who have been long-term unemployed.

Part-time community work placement opportunity for men/women involved in the farming or fishing industry and in receipt of a social welfare payment. RSS

Placements and an opportunity to pursue a career in Childcare are available for the long-term unemployed through our Community Employment Childcare Scheme.

We can provide you with job ready training in areas such as CV preparation, advice and guidance and interview skills.

We can help and support you to find employment. We provide a confidential, one-to-one support around writing your CV, Cover Letter and Job Applications. We can also offer help with interviews, re-skilling and training.

If you are thinking about setting up a new business we can provide you with a confidential service to help you discuss your idea, develop a business plan and cash flow projections. We also offer training and support you to apply for the Short-Term Enterprise Allowance (STEA) to support you if you have lost your job and want to start your own business.

Health and Wellbeing Supports

Through our DLDC programmes, we offer  range of supports for the following: 

Our Community Health Sync programme aims to support you to improve your health and well-being. Our team can provide you with personal health plans tailored to your needs. They also offer free online programmes on Mindfulness, Art, Music and Physical Activities. …

Education & Lifelong Learning Supports

We provide one-to-one advice and support in relation to accessing education and lifelong learning opportunities through our SICAP Programme.

  • Programme on gender awareness and social justice for Second Level Students (delivered in conjunction with Donegal Women’s Network)
  • Social Media support Programmes (offered on a small group basis to individuals to help them stay connected)
  • Health & Well Being programmes (Yoga, meditation, Coping with Covid, Chair aerobics, Practical ways to relieve Stress, Minding your mental health)
  • Women in the Home Programme (8-week programme of Personal development)
  • Preparing for retirement (workshops on Succession Planning, Wills, Power of Attorney & Pensions)
  • Training (Food Safety, HACCP, Paperless HACPP)

Parenting and Family Supports

We provide support and training for parents and families in relation by providing community based programmes and training through our SICAP Programme.

Community based Initiatives to support children with learning difficulties

We provide supports to parents and children with learning difficulties by providing 3 community based programmes supporting children with Dyslexia.

Parenting support Programmes

We support parents as they navigate the various child development phases by providing training and other supports around the areas of Internet Safety, First Aid for Parents, Nutrition

Volunteering

The volunteer centre is here to help you find a suitable volunteer placement.

We act as the link between people who want to volunteer and organisations that are looking to involve volunteers in the local area. If you are interested in volunteering, but not sure if it’s right for you or how to get started, we are the people to talk to!

Rural Development Supports

Through our DLDC programmes, we offer  range of supports for the following: 

DLDC promotes rural development and can provide assistance to put plans around your ideas, to provide funding for studies and capital funding for projects.

DLDC supports the development, maintenance and promotion of trail based outdoor recreation in County Donegal. Trail route cards from Donegal are available for download.
