Síle Uí Ghallchóir

Sile joined the board in 2015 and was then elected in the Gaeltacht elections in 2018 to the Board of DLDC to represent Fóram na Gaeltachta. She works as a Training Officer le Muintearas Teo, Education Training Organisation based in the Gweedore Business Park. Derrybeg.

Síle is very involved in promoting the Irish Language and Culture in the Gaeltacht Areas. She is an active member of her local GAA Club-CLG Ghaoth Dobhair where she served as Culture Officer for 10 years and won the All Ireland Scór Sinsear Sceitse for the club for the first time ever in 2017 and also won a Gold medal for the Club in 2018 Fhondúireacht Sheosaimh Mhic Dhonncha. This was achieved based on the work done promoting Irish in the Club and only 3 clubs in Ireland have received this Gold Medal to date.

Síle is very active in community development and is Chairperson of Coiste Forbartha Oileán Ghabhla, and Sicap na Gaeltacha. She is also a committee member of Leader na nÓileán, Scór an Chontae, Gael Linn Uladh and Meitheal Pleanáil Teanga an Iarthuaiscirt to name but a few.
