Today, December 5th, was designated International Volunteer Day in 1985 by the UN General Assembly and is an opportunity to celebrate volunteerism.
This year’s theme is ‘Every Contribution Matters’. It is clear that volunteers are the backbone of communities right across Donegal. No matter how big or small their contribution, it makes a huge difference.
Volunteers are what make Donegal the county that it is.
Today, offers an opportunity for volunteer-involving organisations and individual volunteers to promote volunteerism, encourage governments to support volunteer efforts and recognise volunteer contributions to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals at local, national and international levels.
