Today, Donegal Local Development CLG (DLDC) launched its first ever Sustainability Strategy.
The document will shape the organisation’s sustainability efforts until 2029.
The Sustainability Strategy was developed by DLDC’s Green Team and DLDC’s Sustainability Committee. It’s a roadmap for the organisation’s sustainability efforts in the coming years and will support the team, clarify responsibilities and prepare the organisation for future challenges.
DLDC is committed to regularly reporting its carbon emissions. This keeps us accountable as we take practical steps to reduce our climate impact.
DLDC Sustainability Committee Chair, Debbie Nesitt says:
‘I’m really pleased that we launched DLDC’s Sustainability Strategy today. I’ve been pleased to help guide the team and the development of the strategy.
We wanted to lead by example and not just support sustainable community development but embrace that through all our operations here at DLDC.
I think the sustainability strategy provides a clear framework for what we’re going to do in terms of social, environmental and corporate governance over the next three years.
I think that can only make us all stronger and more resilient as we move forward.’
