Celebrate the best of community groups in Donegal
Nominations are now open for the Donegal Local Development CLG (DLDC) 2026 Community Recognition Awards.
It’s time once again to celebrate the very best community spirit in Donegal.
The event on November 5th at the Finn Valley Centre, Stranorlar will honour the work of community and voluntary groups, charitable organisations, and social enterprises that have brought positive change to people’s lives in Donegal.
Whether it’s a large social enterprise or a community group that has developed and implemented an innovative environmental project, DLDC wants to hear about it.
The categories are:
- Best Social Inclusion Community Group – recognising an outstanding community group of any size
- Best Small Social Enterprise/ Community Organisation – recognising a not-for-profit organisation with an annual income of less than €100,000
- Best Large Social Enterprise/ Community Organisation – recognising a not-for-profit organisation with an annual income of more than €100,000
- Best Community Environmental Impact Project – recognising a project delivered by an organisation that has had a positive environmental impact within the community
DLDC CEO Padraic Fingleton says, ‘These awards are an opportunity to recognise the incredible work being carried out by community groups and social enterprises. Their commitment and dedication are what makes a difference within communities. We look forward to receiving nominations and learning more about the great work ongoing in the county.’

The closing date for submissions is 5pm on Friday, 11th September 2026.
Eligible organisations must be located within DLDC’s catchment area, covering Central, South and North Donegal.
A judging panel will thoroughly review all nominations and select 16 finalists.
Highland Radio’s Lee Gooch, host of The Naughty Alarm Clock, will serve as MC at the awards ceremony.
